Strategies to Prevent Falls and Low Impact Falling

Our therapists use the Sports Medicine Model of injury prevention when working with the elderly and aging population who may be at risk for falls. This informative program provided to senior citizen and civic groups educates individuals about the risk factors, which would increase the potential for sustaining a fall and injury. It further provides helpful instructions to make the home environment safer, how to minimize the impact on your body if you do fall, and how to minimize the risk of falls when you are out moving in the community. This is an interactive program requiring some physical activity along with the instruction.
